The Junior Club has been part of the Mt Lawley Tennis Club since 1955. This is a great place for our younger tennis players to develop their skills and understanding of the game of tennis.
Social activities are held for these young members and their parents to promote friendship and being part of club life. The Junior Club offers a range of activities from social tennis to competition league tennis and caters for every standard of play.
Members are generally accepted from the age of 6 until they turn 18. Kids younger than 6 and eager to start playing tennis are advised to have a chat with our Club Coach and our Junior League Coordinator.
We encourage our older juniors (15+) to join in with the senior players on some Saturday afternoons to help with the transition into senior membership.

TENNIS WEST JUNIOR TENNIS LEAGUE
Boys and Girls can enjoy playing a high standard of competitive tennis on a consistent basis in an age-based team environment against other clubs in the Perth metro area.
Our juniors participate in the Tennis West Tennis League, which offers a range of divisions and competitive playing standards for all age groups. For more information, please contact our Junior League Coordinator.
MLTC JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Held annually after the Tennis League season is finished in April, the MLTC Junior Club Championships event is open for all our Junior members to enter. Members play singles and doubles matches in a tournament arranged into age-divisions. This is a showcase of our young and developing players of the future.
JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENTS
There are many junior tennis tournaments held throughout the season at venues right around the Perth metropolitan area and regional WA.
Our Club Coach actively encourages our juniors to participate in the Tennis West Junior Development Series, which is a group of round-robin tournaments for beginner to intermediate players. The JDS is a great introduction to tournament play for juniors who are developing their tennis skills.
Held each year in December at the Mt Lawley Tennis Club is the WA State Grasscourt Championships. This Silver Series Tournament attracts the best junior players from around the state to compete for Australian Ranking points.
Our MLTC Juniors also represent our State in the Bruce Cup and Pizzey Cup. These are national school championships for primary and secondary school students. The Bruce Cup is open to boys and girls aged 12 and under. The Pizzey Cup is a national schools tennis championship open to boys and girls aged 18 and under. Many junior players have gone onto great things from playing in these tournaments.
