Barty was snapped yesterday wearing a pair of beautiful Indigenous earrings given to her by 11-year-old Perth boy Kale Stanton.

But it won’t be the last we see of these gems, with the French Open winner telling reporters she is set to wear them when she takes to the court in Perth.

β€œI will be wearing those at the weekend, which will be really cool,” she said.

β€œIt was nice to just meet kids from schools, that is something I love to do.

β€œIt is exciting to meet the next generation of players.”
Kale, a Mount Lawley Tennis Club member, enclosed the earrings in a letter to his tennis idol.

β€œCongratulations on finishing Number 1 and I am very excited to meet you and watch you play this weekend for Australia,” he wrote.

β€œYou are a legend and proud Indigenous like me.”
